What you get

Quotes that survive contact with a production floor.

Three files for every quoted part. Not just a price — the full reasoning, the engineering flags, and the routing your shop can run from on day one.

01 · DFM

DFM screening on every feature

Internal corner radii, drilling depth ratios, workholding survivability, part rigidity — every feature classified before routing is written.

  • Cutter / corner / depth math
  • Tap breakage risk flagging
  • EDM routing where milling fails
02 · Routing

Op-by-op routing detail

Programming, setup, and run time for each operation. Workholding strategy named. Tool count, special tooling, programmer notes — written for your machinist to follow.

  • Every feature assigned to an op
  • Spot-check verification list
  • Handoff instructions
03 · Risk

Engineering flags surfaced upfront

Drawing/model conflicts, undimensioned features, distortion risk, GD&T ambiguities — flagged before you commit. Each with a recommended resolution.

  • Severity-scored 1–10
  • Drawing references for each flag
  • Walk-away threshold stated
Sample work

A real quote, end to end.

A hydraulic manifold block quoted for a fictional fluid power customer. What we deliver to you (the shop), what your customer sees after you rebrand it, and the live model behind the numbers. Same part, three views — available as one package.

Tailored to your shop

We learn your shop before we quote.

Most quoting services run generic. The same RFQ that's a slam-dunk at one shop loses money at another — different machines, different rates, different vendor relationships, different risk appetite. Before we touch your first RFQ, we capture how your shop actually runs. Then every quote we write is built for the way you actually make money.

01 / CAPABILITIES

What you can actually make

Every machine on your floor — make, travels, axes, spindle specs. Inspection equipment. In-house grinding, EDM, welding. We route to what you own, not to what we assume you own.

02 / PRICING STRUCTURE

How you make money

Hourly rates by process, margin targets by tier, material markup, lot minimums, rush charge schedule. Every dollar on every quote reflects how you price work, not generic shop-rate averages.

03 / VENDOR NETWORK

Your real outside processing

Your heat treaters, coaters, waterjet vendors — with the actual rates and lead times you pay. Outside processing is where 30% of quote variance lives. We use your numbers, not industry averages.

04 / POSITIONING

Where you win — and walk away

Your ideal customer, sweet-spot work, walk-away triggers. We quote toward the tier that wins the right jobs for you and flag the wrong ones before they cost you a quote turnaround.

Stintera shop onboarding form — welcome screen
Shop onboarding

~30 minutes. Once. Web-based.

Eleven sections covering capabilities, pricing structure, vendor relationships, materials, certifications, operational profile, and risk preferences. Progress auto-saves to your browser so you can step away and pick up later. Submits a clean CSV to Stintera that drops straight into the quoting system for your shop. Mutual NDA available on the welcome page before you commit.

No commitment required to review. NDA is mutual and covers everything you share.

How it works

Three steps from RFQ to delivered quote.

You send the RFQ

Day 0

Send STEP files, PDFs, drawings, customer specifications — whatever you have — through our secure encrypted transfer link. Include quantity, due date, and any context on stock or outside processing. NDA available if needed.

We quote it

24–48 hours

Full eight-stage pipeline: intake, DFM screening, feature extraction, time and cost estimation, routing, risk assessment, workbook population, package strategy. You get the three files plus a one-paragraph summary of any flagged issues.

You ship it to your customer

Same day

Quote is rebrandable under your shop's name and identity. Edit pricing, add your terms, attach your cover. Your customer sees a quote from your shop — not from us.

Pricing

Two ways to work with us.

Pay per quote when you need overflow capacity. Switch to a retainer when quoting becomes a recurring need. Either way, no hidden fees and no guessing what "complex" means.

01 Pay per quote — Best for occasional overflow or one-off projects.
Per-part pricing
$225 base + Features × rate by complexity
Variant discount — 50% off variants 2–4, 65% off variant 5+ · Volume discount — 10% off RFQs of 10+ parts, 15% off 20+
$8
per simple feature
  • Drilled hole, no special tolerance
  • Counterbore, spotface, chamfer
  • Basic pocket or profile cut
  • Face mill, edge break
$14
per moderate feature
  • Reamed hole or tight-tol bore
  • Tapped hole, threaded port
  • GD&T-controlled feature
  • Surface-finish-critical face
$30
per complex feature
  • Deep bore (D/d > 5:1)
  • Internal passage / cross-drill
  • 5-axis or angled-face feature
  • Wire EDM or sinker work
Live Estimator Counts adjust the estimate in real time
Heat-treat distortion analysis (+$50/part) is automatically added when the part requires it. Not a checkbox — if it's needed, it's included.

$1,801
$180 per part avg
First quote free. New shops get the first part quoted at no charge to evaluate fit. Minimum charge $225 per RFQ. Pricing in USD. New customers prepay until established.
02 Retainer — Best for steady quoting volume and predictable monthly cost.
Monthly flat rate · custom to your volume

Capacity on tap. Costs that don't surprise you.

A monthly flat fee that covers a defined quote volume for your shop, sized to your actual RFQ traffic. You get the same eight-stage pipeline and three-file deliverable on every part — just billed predictably instead of per-RFQ. When work surges, you don't get hit with a surprise invoice. When work is slow, you're not paying for capacity you don't use.

  • 35–45% lower per-part cost — retainer shops pay a meaningfully lower rate per part than pay-per-quote pricing
  • Defined monthly volume — sized to your historical RFQ traffic, reviewed quarterly
  • Priority turnaround — retainer customers move to the front of the queue, 24-hour standard
  • Same deliverable quality — full DFM screening, routing detail, and engineering flags on every part
  • Dedicated direct line — no general inbox, talk to your estimator
  • Quarterly volume review — adjust the retainer up or down as your business changes
  • No long-term lock-in — 30-day cancellation, no penalty

Questions & answers

What shops ask before they send us a print.

Handing your drawings to an outside firm is a real decision. Here is exactly how we handle your files, your pricing, and your customer relationships — in plain language, with nothing buried.

Your files & your data The part that matters most
What happens to my drawings and models after you finish a quote?

They are deleted. Every file you send us — CAD models, drawings, prints, specifications — is automatically purged within 7 days of us delivering your quote. The deletion is automated, not a task someone has to remember.

The short window after delivery exists for one reason only: so a revision or a re-send can be handled cleanly if something needs correcting. After that, your source files are gone from our systems.

Files are received through an encrypted transfer service with its own built-in expiration. We never ask you to email sensitive prints as attachments — that keeps stray copies from living in an inbox.
Who actually sees my prints and specifications?

Only the person preparing your quote. Your files are not added to a shared database and not pooled with other customers' work.

We never use one shop's parts, designs, or pricing to inform another shop's quote. Each engagement is handled on its own.

Could a competitor of mine ever see my work?

No. There is no shared visibility between customers. Your files are handled in isolation, under NDA, and deleted shortly after your quote ships. Nothing you send us is visible, searchable, or accessible to any other shop we work with.

Do you sign a non-disclosure agreement?

Yes — before any files change hands, every time, no exceptions. We are glad to work under your NDA, or we can provide a straightforward mutual agreement for you to review. Whichever you prefer, it is in place before you upload anything.

Is my pricing and cost information kept confidential?

Your cost structure, your margins, and your rates are yours. We do not disclose them, sell them, publish them, or benchmark them against other shops. Quotes are built around your numbers, and your numbers stay with you.

Does Stintera keep anything at all after the purge?

We will be precise about this. Your source files — models, drawings, specs — are deleted. The quote document we produced for you may be retained as part of our own business records.

That distinction matters: we keep our own work product, not your intellectual property. If you would like the quote record deleted as well, just ask.

How Stintera works for you The practical side
The first quote is free — what's the catch?

There isn't one. The first quote is free because the fastest way to show you the quality and turnaround is to simply do it. You see real output on a real part before any money or commitment is involved. If it isn't useful, you have lost nothing.

What does Stintera actually do that an estimator wouldn't?

We don't simply put a price on a part. Our work is done by experienced manufacturing engineers who understand how parts are actually made — and we do the real legwork behind the scenes.

On every job we analyze the part for machinability, catch the fine details many estimators miss, raise engineering flags, and assess the risks that could derail a job before it starts. You also receive the full, detailed routing, so it is clear exactly where every dollar in the quote is attributed.

The result: when you win the job, you are already equipped to start machining it immediately — not starting the engineering work from scratch.

How are quotes tailored to my shop specifically?

A quote is only useful if it reflects how your shop runs. We build estimates around your machines, your processes, your cycle assumptions, and your rates — not a generic industry average.

The more we know about your floor, the tighter the quote. We dial that in with you up front so what you receive is something you could stand behind and send to your customer.

How does this actually save me money?

Quoting is a bottleneck that usually gets solved by hiring — and a hire means salary, payroll tax, health premiums, and overhead, whether the RFQ volume is there that month or not.

Stintera absorbs the time-consuming part of quoting without adding a person to your payroll. Your existing estimator — or a lower-cost administrative employee — can handle the customer-facing side, while the heavy lift of working up the numbers comes off their plate.

Do I still control my customer relationships?

Completely. Stintera never sits between you and your customer. We are not a broker and we do not contact your customers. You send the quote, you own the relationship, you win the job.

We handle throughput. Every customer touchpoint stays with your team.

How fast is turnaround?

Every quote is delivered within 24 to 48 hours — the exact timing depends on part complexity and your needs, but it will never take longer than that.

Need it sooner? We can expedite to meet a tighter deadline — just tell us when you send the RFQ. And shops on our enterprise plan get a turnaround schedule customized to fit the flow of their business.

What do you need from me to get started?

Less than you might think. To produce a first quote we need the part files or drawings, any specs or tolerances that came with the RFQ, and a short picture of your shop — your machines and your rates — so the numbers reflect your floor.

The NDA is in place first. Then you upload through a secure, encrypted link. That's the whole on-ramp.

What if I disagree with a quote?

Tell us. You know your floor better than anyone, and your feedback makes the next quote sharper. If an assumption looks off — a cycle time, a setup, an outside process — we will walk through it with you and revise.

The quote is a tool for you to use, not a number handed down. It should reflect reality as you see it.
